The Charlotte Labor Day Parade Committee welcomes all participants to join us in 2024 for our annual parade! ðŸŽ‰

Below is a map of the parade route as well as simple assembly guidelines for the parade.

As always, contact our Parade Chairman for more details!

Please remember that city ordinances prohibit the throwing of anything to the lineside spectators, but it is permisable to handout articles to the spectators. All groups, political candidates, businesses, and individuals must be preregistered, even if they are participating with your group. Proper decorum will be observed in the staging area and on the parade route since this is a family parade. You may not have music with offensive or profane lyrics. If you have animals in the parade, I need to know about them. Animals have to be cleaned up after immediately. Firearms are, not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Use masks as a precaution, if needed. Parade assembly begins at 9 am for early arrivals, but please do not arrive before then as it takes us time to set up the staging lot. Please be in place by 10:30 am or let me know that you will be late arriving. Everyone must enter the staging area via North College Street, which is a one way northbound street. One of the marshals will check you in at the intersection of North College and Montford Point St. (formerly Phifer St). Please be careful in your driving. North College will not be blocked off, it is a one way street northward.

Vehicles in the parade will be placed either on Montford Point Street or in the leftside parking lot under the direction of the marshals in their numbered spaces. The numbered spaces correspond to your lineup number. Look for the hand chalked numbers in lot parking spaces. All other vehicles must be parked in the rightside parking lot, parking as far away from the Medic building as you can. Only vehicles in the parade are allowed in the rightside lot. Please try to carpool or use the light rail as much as possible. There are some other parking lots in the area, but they are not free. You can ride the light rail to 9th Street and walk up. Porta-Jons will be provided. The lot marshal will have some bottled water. Please keep the lots clean of litter. At 11 am the parade will begin down Tryon Street in numerical order at the direction of myself or my marshals. Remain in your assigned space, and do not move without signal from me or one our marshals. For safety and orderliness, the parade participants must start only when directed to by me or my marshals. The parade will proceed down Tryon Street, turning left onto 3rd Street and this is the parade's end. Be advised that the light rail trolleys will be in operation on Trade St. The police will stop the parade at the Square to let the trolley pass.

Just wanted to ask if you would be interested in getting external help with graphic design? We do all design work like banners, advertisements, brochures, logos, flyers, etc. for a fixed monthly fee.

We don't charge for each task. What kind of work do you need on a regular basis? Let me know and I'll share my portfolio with you.
